So much has happened since the last time I wrote in this thing, so I have no clue where to start! Clearly, the wedding is still on, in spite of my fears in the last post. And really, things got even more difficult following that post (including my car getting broken into, my car breaking down a mile from work during rush hour, and losing the A/C in our house just before Charlie left for D.C. for an audition). But here we are -- nearing the 3 week mark and gearing up for our 21-hour drive to Michigan!
So many wonderful things have also happened! Charlie has been offered several private lesson opportunities, as well as receiving offers to teach/instruct drumlines and percussion ensembles at several area schools. So, he's been busy with the beginning of the school year! Though he didn't receive the position he auditioned for in D.C., he gained a great deal of experience and got to spend time with his sister! AND, two of my favorite people got married -- and Charlie and I got to participate in the celebration! Our flight from Chicago to Flint was cancelled and we missed the rehearsal dinner -- but once we finally got there, we were overwhelmed with joy and excitement! Seeing everyone was so wonderful. And, it wasn't so difficult to say goodbye this time, knowing that we'd see everyone again so soon!!
Also, I got to spend some really great time with my future in-laws, as well as some time with my family. We did some wedding prep, met with our officiant, met with our photographer, etc. It was a wonderful trip!!!
So, to some pictures from the wonderful July 23rd celebration of Lindsay and Jake!!
It was like a mini Alma reunion! So many of our favorite percussion friends!!
Charlie and I on the bus home! :) We celebrated right up until the DJ left at 12:00am. The bride and groom danced along with us all night!
Lindsay made such a beautiful bride. I can't wait to get in my white dress and post pictures from our day as well!!!
