Day 122 - 243 Days to Go!

Charlie and I have been sooo busy these past few days! Because Charlie had the entire week off from school (he starts up again on Tuesday since tomorrow is a holiday), he's been doing a lot of housework and some wedding planning! He contacted a handful of hotels in the Cadillac area and we've managed to get a pretty good idea of what the best bang for our guests' buck will be. Next, we really just need to consider the contract information and figure out the best number of rooms to block. And the plus? The hotel that we'll likely be booking will provide us with a honeymoon suite the night of the wedding at the same cost as the regular rooms! Now, we need to figure out how we'd like to get around the logistics of the two of us not seeing one another on the wedding day until the ceremony! When I mentioned this to Charlie, he said, "Wait a minute, really? We won't see each other until the ceremony?!" I just cracked up. I hadn't thought about the fact that maybe he hadn't thought of that. He'd really only been thinking about not seeing the dress until the wedding day! Oh man, I love him so much. :)

For pretty much the entire weekend, we've been working on Charlie's brand new MacBook (WOO HOO!) to create our Save the Date video. It. Is. AWESOME! Ok, so I shouldn't toot our horn, but seriously, it's a lot of fun! I couldn't be happier with: 1) how much fun it has been to create OR 2) how fun we think it will be for our guests to view. Also, we've been working on creating curtains for our bedroom. We've lived with just blinds for long enough. We've decided to pick out our own fabric and create them ourselves because I received a sewing machine from my future mother and father in-law for Christmas! So far, we've got the fabric, the means by which to hang the fabric, and the sewing machine to put it all together! It's been a fun little project, and it's definitely still in the works. I'll post pictures as soon as we're done!

Speaking of pictures...

I've chosen this photo for today because it is included in our video Save the Date. It's from our trip out to Port Townsend, WA with the Percussion Ensemble in the summer of 2007. Charlie and I love it a lot because we feel like it's a genuine reflection of us -- carefree, happy, and in love. Though we are often troubled by money woes or by the normal stresses of coming into actual adulthood, we are able and willing to lean or be the lean-on for one another. Quite simply, I love Charlie, but I also love "US" -- the energy and the soul that is our relationship.
